Ubud - Tulamben

Publié le par Bénédicte Laur

I'm afraid Bali is not exactly my cup of tea, it seems to have lost its authenticity as the tourism industry got bigger ; however the fact that I do not feel that attracted to it is also because I'm getting a bit tired from all the travelling. Also, as I wasn't meant to come here, I'm a bit lost and don't have the energy to try and make anything, apart from the diving.
Let's just say that my basis is Ubud, Bali's cultural center, and from there I move around ...or rather I'm going to try to do it.
I still haven't done any temples, volcanoes...but I have done the dives in Tulamben on the magnificent Liberty ship wreck, as well as two others in the area. Got to see my first frog fish as well as tons of other beautiful coral life and a big mean looking barracuda.
It does seem easier to meet people here than in Latin America, let's hope this will continue. However, Bali is loaded with French tourists and that's a bit too much for me. I haven't heard so much French since I left France. I met a French Parisian couple, totally stressed out all the time and arguing a lot together...when I looked at them I could see the Parisian me....well I apparently have changed quite a bit on that level. It was like looking at aliens to me, why all the stress when there was absolutly no reason to do so...This only confirms my decision to leave France and get a life elsewhere, close to nature and its beauties.
Nothing real exciting to tell I'm afraid, other than that I did a few walks around Ubud, got to see a few rice fields, a traditional Hindu theatre/dance play, visit Ubud's market, ...
I have also learned that my breasts have reached an appealing proportion for the male specie, which defenitly confirms that I have put on a lot of kilos since I left France. Darn !

Hello m'dame,
A+
