Arrival in Bali

Publié le par Bénédicte Laur

Think I'll switch to the English language now as I have more and more fans wanting to read my super exciting adventures. At least it will make my French mates practice their English. If there are any complaints I will take note of them and try to make a kind of mixture... Anyway, everyone is off on holiday in France and they're not reading me anymore (snif) and as I keep being taken for a Dutch girl ( "That's funny you don't sound French, you sure you're not Dutch ?"), might as well live up to my image.

So there I am in Bali...the heat is on in all its meanings... I'm going to have to invent some new relationship again, a new husband, kids (1-2-3....whatever) an excuse to why I'm not with them (because I'm the most awful mother a kid could dream of, as well as a pretty bad match for anyone who wants to keep their mental health !).

I arrived late last night, took an official cab to Sanur, 15 kms from the airport. checked into a guest house, I have this enormous bedroom and bed, with even a living room with TV, for just 24 USD a night. Feel alive again ! I don't have to worry about snoring neighbors anymore and I can go back to sleeping naked ! what a treat !

I saw Michael today, Gillian's friend who works for a major Diving company here. So I'm already on the go..taking the first boat tomorrow morning that's going from Sanur to Nusa Lembongan, a small island on the east of Bali. There I will stay several days doing a couple of dives everyday. I hope to see the Mola Mola (Sun fish) that has been seen lately. After that I will head to Ubud for a few days to come back to Kuta around the 4th of August in order to see Gillian who will be staying in Kuta for several days before heading back to Scotland.

I already have heaps of phone numbers from guys who want to drive me around the island for a certain fare (pretty cheap actually). Michael has also given me two areas where I will be pretty much by myself and that are rich on a cultural and landscape point of view. So I'll keep you informed of my experiences as soon as I get back from Nusa Lembongan...maybe I'll get the famous mushroom cocktail over there if I find the right crowd to test it with...can't wait !

The other cool thing, I'm in a net bar/restaurant, and I can actually sip my beer and smoke as I'm using the net...Jesus I love that decadence !

A+
